Been There, Done That: Family Wisdom For Modern Times by Al Roker and Deborah Roberts For the first time ever, Al Roker is collaborating with his wife, Deborah Roberts on a new book due in January. Been There, Done That is a funny, heartfelt, and empowering collection of life lessons, hard-won wisdom, and instructive family anecdotes from Al and Deborah’s lives, from their parents and grandparents, and from dear friends, famous and not. Here, Al and Deborah candidly share childhood obstacles like obesity and growing up in the segregated south; the challenges and blessings that come from raising very different kids; hard-won truths about marriage and career; the illuminating “little things” that adults can learn from children; and the genuine wisdom that the elderly can share with a younger generation.

The Storm of the Century LP: Tragedy, Heroism, Survival, and the Epic True Story of America’s Deadliest Natural Disaster: e Great Gulf Hurricane of 1900 In addition to being the Weatherman on NBC’s The Today Show, I am also a Weather Historian. I was so taken by the story of the Great Gulf Hurricane of 1900, the deadliest natural disaster in American history, that I decided to write a book about it. On the afternoon of September 8, 1900, 200-mile-per-hour winds and fifteen-foot waves slammed into Galveston, Texas. In less than twenty-four hours, one storm destroyed a major American metropolis—and awakened a nation to the terrifying power of nature. In my new book, Storm Of The Century, I bring this legendary disaster and its aftermath into focus, looking at the havoc caused by this storm, and the pain and trauma of the loss and the determination of the response.
